Weather you are a new puppy parent or an experienced owner looking to switch service providers its helpful to know what to expect when you bring your dog to our salon.
Our grooming salon is located within our pet supplies shop, there are parking spaces outside. Please make sure your dog has been to the toilet before you bring them into the shop and that they are safely restrained in well fitting a collar/lead/harness.
We have a multi-groomer salon, which means it can be busy and noisy. It is important to arrive on time as appointment start times are staggered through the day. If you are more than 15 minutes late you may miss your slot.
When you arrive your groomer will have a chat with you about your expectations. They will check your dog over quickly to look for any matted areas that may need extra attention. It is important to let the groomer know if your dog has any health conditions or any recent injuries or operations.
Your dog may be nervous in new surroundings, if you feel upset or stressed about leaving them they will feel your anxiety, so stay calm and positive to help your dog.
The appointment will normally take between 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 hours and you will be told what time to collect your dog. You may be offered a spa treatment, this is optional. The spa treatments are high quality professional products which will leave your dog feeling and smelling fantastic!
After you leave your dog may be put straight in the bath, or they may be placed into a crate or puppy pen for a few minutes until the groomer is ready.
After the bath they will be dried and their hair cut and styled and nails trimmed (if this is included in the service).
Your dog may be placed back into a crate or puppy pen to wait for you to collect them. This is to keep them safe and make sure they can't escape or chew or eat something they shouldn't!
If they are ready early we will give you a courtesy call to let you know.
We would always encourage customers to let the groomer know at pick up if there is anything you do not like about the groom, we may be able to fix or change it there and then.
